Great hospitality from warm and kind people, spacious, well-maintained, clean room”
I visited this WelcomHotel Chennai on 9 April, 2019 and stayed for about 11 days. Although the exterior was not so attractive, the interior was beautiful and nice. Most of all, the happiest experience I had here was hospitality from warm and kind people. They have been truly nice and helpful to us. Their smile made us feel at home and comfortable. The superior room was large and spacious. Although it looked a little bit old, it was always clean and we felt that it is kept in good condition with usual maintenance being done twice a day. Air conditioning system was so good that I could not suffer from dryness or hotness. It worked silent and steadily to provide good ambiance. This hotel provided a number of bottled, sealed water per day and we could have as much of clean and good water as we needed. TV had so many channels but we could not enjoyed it very much because we've been busy looking around the city. All were so nice and memorable! Thanks to you all!!

Excellent staff behaviour but dinner included was below benchmark. ”
Everything excellent except included dinner was served in thali type meal which was neither good in taste and wastage but the serving person Mr. Rahul had excellent behaviour both at dinner and breakfast time. The dinner thali policy must be reviewed by management to improve otherwise that may be a drawback even after excellent behaviour and service provided since beginning like front desk staff, housekeeping staff and Marina restaurant staff, which is definitely excellent. I stayed in room number 310 on 04.3.2021 for one night which was an upgraded room with all excellent facilities except dinner ( Management policy makers fault and responsible only) served in thali but behaviour of Mr Rahul was so excellent which covered all deficiencies.

Nice place in center of town”
The hotel has been redone and it shows. Nice rooms well laid out and comfortable with wide windows. The restaurants have good menus and the food is really good. Service is above par. Efficient and friendly. Location is central and easy to get app Taxis and Autos are available right outside.

Old World charm ! ”
Beautiful Hotel in a very central location. I was in the city to watch the India England test match and place was fairly close to the stadium. Being a Hotel built during the '70s there was no dearth of space at the time and therefore rooms are large-sized and its great value for money. The hotel also has a nicely stocked bar and a small outdoor pool (currently closed due to Covid restrictions). I loved the whole experience.

Enjoyed my two days stay with my children. Overall very professional and polite staff and friendly to kids. My children enjoyed the pool time. The location is ideal and middle of the city. Though i forget some of the staffs names, Karthik in the pool section and Sydney & BalaVignesh at front-desk did great services during the stay.

Pro’s: Got a great deal from Agoda. Location proximity to central Chennai Lots of restaurants nearby Friendly staff Good breakfast Con’s Room was not ready on arrival, had to wait for an hour - but staff was accommodating in terms of late check out and options to freshen up. Hotel is little aged, probably time for a refresh. Reception has limited seating, waiting without a room standing in the reception after a long travel was an inconvenience. Food rates are very high, keep in mind of budget and you may be losing a lot of F&B revenue due to this.
