Great vacation for relaxing”
This place is great when you plan to have a relaxed vacation. Rooms are great and bathroom is best we ever had in the Philippines. It's very spacious,clean and comfortable. Same with room. WiFi is strong enough around the pool, restaurant and even the room. At least ours was... Staff is so friendly and helpful. Will help you always with smile on the face. Breakfast is very good. Maybe the choice could be bigger. One thing: if you want to have party, loud music... It's definitely the wrong place... But it's best for relaxation. Definitely *****

Great place and nice beach”
I've stayed in many resorts along this stretch of coastline and this is one of the cleanest and nicest places. The cottages are fantastic. The pool and the grounds are really nice. The beach is sandy and good for swimming. They also make wood fired pizza!

I have visited WCHR few times in the past as a dining customer and food alone made me consider the place for a weekend getaway. Perhaps if the internet was operational we would stay a little longer. Food is above average with good choices. Smoked dishes are superb and a must-try. Staff is very kind and accommodating, rooms clean and appropriately equipped for a short stay. No closet or space for clutter :). There was no hot water in our room but it did not bother us at all. Pool is well maintained and of a good size. Good AC and electric fun to chose from. Kids loved our stay there and we may return someday. Highly recommended.

It was very quiet cause of the Covid-19 The place is very nice , and the staff is amazing. We found it a bit pricy for a room without AC. But we really enjoyed our time there, the food is very very good. And they make the best homemade bacon ever!

thank you for your review and I apologize for late reply. Due to covid-19 we opted to remporatily vlise the resort. But no worries, NOW we are back in business and I am happy to inform that during those time we are close, we took the opportunity to renovate our rooms and install an aircondition. All rooms now in the resort are equipt with A/C and prices almost no difference from before.
Beautiful resort, great staff and a relaxing stay”
We stayed 3 nights at this resort which is about 30 minutes by car south of Dumaguete. The pool and adjacent bar were our usual hangouts when not visiting the town, or on day trips. We found the food was good but pricy. We got the Relax Bungalow which has a nice rustic decor and was super clean. The bed, AC and bathroom, all good. Overall, the friendly staff, the resort and the super clean beach, (deep water) made the stay memorable.

Hospitable Staff and Quiet Neighborhood ”
The resort was nice, and the staff were kind and helpful. The resort was nice and clean, but the food was just okay. Overpriced and nothing to write home about. My wife had undercooked chicken in one instance. My in-laws complained about the food being too salty and not to order. The pool was probably the best part, facility-wise about the resort. Big and clean and plenty of shade or sun as needed. The beach was also pretty nice, and there is a marine sanctuary about 50 or so meters off shore. Beautiful coral to enjoy! We stayed during a heat wave, so the Cozy Bungalows weren't so cozy... It was tough for us to sleep the first night, and Fix, the giant Doberman, barked throughout the night. Even earplugs didn't mute God ridiculously loud bark. We upgraded to the AC units and got some good rest on our last night. I think the Cozy Bungalows would be fine if the weather stays cool at night. In all, the place is pretty good, but the food and heat were problems for us during our stay.

Mixed experience ”
Easy to find and next to the beach this place deserves a higher rating! The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautifully laid out and cared for. We stayed in the cheapest option, a series of huts all rather close to each other. Everything was very clean, there was daily cleaning, but we happened to be there over Chinese New Year. Unfortunately many Chinese people are very loud and unaware of the noise they they make when others are around. For that these huts were way too close, as you can hear every sound your neighbours make. The other side where the resort fails is with the food. Firstly the prices are a little higher than other restaurants in the area, secondly the food on offer is very poor. No fresh local fish, too much deep frying. Compared with the other restaurants we went to, not a very good menu either. If we hadn't had a car or motorbike, I don't what we would have done. The breakfast too is mediocre. No fresh fruit juice, lousy coffee.

Location sucks. Far and requires transportation from Dumaguete. Lots of (harmless) critters - bugs, frogs, geckos. Beach had free roaming goats and dogs. Harmless, but somewhat weird. Staff was good and accommodating. Keep in mind that not all rooms are air conditioned.

Staff was very friendly. The facility looks great in the photos. It is very remote. No night life anywhere nearby. You are limited to the restaurant at the resort. And the prices of food are high. There are very strange rules you find out while staying here. You aren’t allowed to order food and eat it at the bar or bar area. Even when you are the only guest there. Very strange. Worst part of my 4 night stay was waking up every 20-30 minutes to the sound of a barking and whining dog. The third night at 3:30 am I went out to investigate. There was a dog tied to the fence at the back of the property and another very vicious dog tied to the front fence. Don’t stay here if you value your sleep at night. At 4 am the roosters next door will start crowing. Not a place where you will experience the relaxaing beach vacation you are expecting.

Our little paradise offer a relaxing stay which is night life is not really part of it. Usually night life can be experienced only in the City. Rules are being implemented anywhere else and so us our resort as to maintain the harmony of every guest staying. Bending rules are not really good as this may cause future problems. For the security dogs we have, were finding ways for these dogs not to disturb guests during the sleeping hours. The roosters are from our neighbors and already talked to them about this issue. With regards to your issues/concerns about the electronic, we have a generator to supply the resorts electricity needs if there is a problem on the supply from the power provider. It takes minute/s turn on/off our generator to prevent damage to our appliances/electrical things. Were sorry if that problem made you inconvenient during that day. For the rooms, we've posted room pictures with details on the website and online channels for the guest to check and for them to have an idea prior making the reservation. That's what every individual do prior making a reservation. For our non-air-conditioned room type, a mosquito catcher is provided which has been explained also upon checking the room and as you have seen that a net is set-up on the open area (upper part) of the room to prevent the mosquitoes from coming in. We very much liked it at White Chocolate Hills Resort. It is about 40mins by tricycle from Dumaguete city, which isn't exactly a nice city where you would like to stay for days. We were stuck there, as the ferry service was suspended due to stormy weather. We were extremely happy to find a nice resort, with very attentive and friendly service relatively close to Dumaguete city. The resort has access to the beach. However, we've seen nicer beaches on the Philippines. But otherwise, this resort is a great option!

White Chocolate Hills Resort was incredible! The entire staff were all so accommodating, polite and professional. The food was great! Especially the tenderloin and pizza. The location is perfect! Just a few feet from a very nice large sandy beach. It is a very peaceful and quiet resort. Extremely clean and designed so nicely! Very appealing and unique. The owner, Gunther, and his wife, Bea, are fantastic hosts! We would definitely stay there again! Loved it!

It's a little bit outside of town, which I like. Good security staff that greets you and you settled in your room. The grounds were immaculate with a great pool, great restaurant/bar, and a great scaled-down model of the chocolate hills near the pool. The resorts beach is immense and sandy and wonderful. The owners were quick to help you with anything you need and April at the bar with her staff were fantastic! This is sure to become one of the best new resorts in the Dumaguete area of Negros Oriental. I will be visiting them again as soon as possible.

We were quite impressed upon arrival as the staff warmly welcomed us. The pool is actually bigger than how it looks in photos. The place is perfect for travelers who want to enjoy a quiet and serene place not too far from Dumaguete city. Superb cleanliness! Food is reasonable. Shout out to their manager. Mark made sure we've got everything we need and would always ask if we're okay. The couple who owns the resort were also very accommodating and friendly. They stayed til late night talking to guests from Latin America, giving them tips on places to visit in the Philippines. I was a bit disappointed though when the guard turned off the lights around 4:30 a.m. in the bar area. The whole place was very dark (I couldn't see the letters on my laptop's keyboard). He saw us working there the entire night as I was assisting an American client and it was the only spot where internet connection's stable. Overall, it was a great stay!
