Fantastic 2-night stay in this beautiful traditional Japanese style hot spring inn”
We stayed here 2 nights, warmly welcomed and served by the staffs all the time from the pickup at bus stop, check in, meals arrangement till check out. This inn locates along the downstream of the river and about 7 mins to info center or 10 mins to bus stop by walk, very quiet and beautiful place. We can enjoy hot spring bath any time as 2 public outdoor pools (switched for men/women at every mid night), 2 public indoor pools, 6 individual indoor pools. 24 hours hot/cold coffee/tea inside room or at lounge. Dinner and breakfast are also amazing and yummy. Inn arrange different menu with fresh, seasonal and special local ingredients for us.

Excellent stay”
Traditional ryokan design. Room is super huge, quiet place, beautiful scenic, peaceful. Liked their Onsen very much. Besides public onsen, they have 6 private onsen too. No reservation need, is first come first basis. No shower area in each room, shower only available at onsen. Low density as less than 20 rooms in total. All guests dine at a private room regardless for breakfast or dinner at designated time slot given. Is an awesome stay and I will definitely stay at Yamabiko Ryokan if I ever return to Kurokawa.

Beautiful quaint hot spring ryokan - multiple bath choices and friendly staffs”
Enjoyed my 2 nights stay with Full Board package. The kaiseki meals were super nice, variety of spreads (up to 19 types/course) and groups + individuals are all placed in private room with assigned server for privacy. Its located at the main street of Manganji, so its easy to walk about and shop around. The most enjoyable thing about staying here is the omotenashi by the staffs in Yamabiko. Highly recommended.

Nice onsen ryokan”
Staff were nice and spoke good English. Food were delicious. Room was clean and surprisingly equipped with networked TV with youtube. There were several private onsens which customers could use whenever they were unoccupied which was good for family.

Variety onsen, hospitality local senior service staffs, superb massage chair!”
Yamabiko has so many types of onsen and some of them open all night. Local senior staffs are very friendly. I forgot my jacket when I check out so I contacted to the hotel for picking up. The hotel sent my jacket to my 2nd day hotel this is made me so shocked for their support. Yamabiko is traditional and look simple but it's real and I'll stay here for sure if I visit Kurokawa again. Thank you for your kind services :)

Amazing stay”
Our family enjoyed a lovely stay here. The surroundings, staff and food were all great, especially the massage chair! We would recommend this place if you want to explore Kurokawa as it is also very central.

Charming with great private onsens”
We were traveling with our 1yo and we are tattooed Americans so the private onsens were great. They have 6 that are available 24 hrs per day and they're almost always empty and they're all a little different. We stayed in a tatami room and our futons were very comfortable. We had breakfast included in the price and it was a sight to see--so many different dishes of traditional foods. Walkable to get around the charming Kurokawa area. The price seemed a little steep but all the ryokan onsens seem to be outrageously expensive. This place was on the more affordable side. They have parking.

What a Gem”
I have stayed in several ryokan in my previous trip to Japan and this is by far my favourite. It overlooks a river and the place is sparkling clean. Room is big for our party of 5! There are 6 private Onsen / family bath who we enjoyed. The outdoor Onsen has a very nice setting. The Onsen street has some nice little shops. There are limited food options so best to book with breakfast and dinner which was of very high quality and served in private room. We enjoyed so much we wanted to stay an extra night but they were fully booked. Kurosawa Onsen area is a little hard to get to without a car though. Pricing in this area is a little steep but worth the price.

Fantastic Ryokan. Genuine Japanese hospitality.”
This was our first trip to Kurokawa onsen and we chose our accommodation online very carefully. We ended up being VERY pleased with Yamabiko, who offered us an authentic welcome and genuine hospitality, and made our stay at their ryokan unforgettable. We were traveling with a 5 month old baby and they took great care of us, provided us with a chair for our child to accompany us in the private onsen, and even prepared a small "baby pillow" which was placed on our futon setup. The staff was patient, attentive and seemed to genuinely care that we have a perfect stay. We would gladly return at Yamabiko, and should we return to Kurokawa (which we probably will), will definitely stay there again. The ryokan's large public bath was fantastic, and the numerous private baths allowed us to enjoy the onsen as a family. The facilities were very clean and well organized. We loved our stay! Thank you Yamabiko!

Nice ryokan at Kurakawa Onsen”
Great hotel with a gigantic black dog at the lobby to welcome you. Love the 6 private baths opening 24 hours and no bookings were required for hotel guests. The large public bath is very traditional that no shower were there, you have to wash yourself with a shared tub of onsen and a bucket. The staff English were surprising good compared to other ryokans. One drawback though, we arrived at the hotel at 1720, we were told it is too late that we couldn’t enjoy dinner at the hotel( I have double checked beforehand the hotel description to make sure the cutoff is 6pm). Noted the check in time starts not until 3pm. Luckily there is some restaurants opening at night and we enjoyed a nice BBQ at UFUFU( which is the restaurant at another hotel). Better specify the check in cutoff time to receive dinner in the description. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend to friends for sure.

Amazing”
First and only stay in a ryokan but I cannot imagine something being much better than this. The staff: They were amazingly friendly and so helpful. From being greeted in the parking lot, having our bags brought in on a cart with our name on a plank! To the helpful and patient explanations and service in our room and finally the assistance in taking our bags back to the car and the wave and bow goodbye. The room: This has got to be one of the larger rooms I have ever stayed in. Very nice Japanese style with tatami mats, super comfy futon and even a balcony to watch the river and see the fall colors. The Onsen: There are two public Onsen right next to each other, one side for men the other for women. There are many various sized private onsen that you can use anytime you wish. The food: We only had breakfast included but we were amazed with the variety/presentation and taste. Summary - One of my fondest memories of Japan.

Very nice environment and highly available hot spring”
With 6 different private hot spring, 2 indoor public hot spring and 2 outdoor public hot spring, it was more than enough to take a hot bath at anytime in a day. The dinner was very good, but the breakfast was a bit disappointing. Overall, the stay was pleasant and awesome with friendly staff and timely pick-up service from the bus station
