Location, location, location! A 2 minute walk to Grasmere but feels like you're in the country.”
Cons - not the cheapest YHA but the cheapest place to stay in Grasmere. Car parking is limited but if you arrive after 6pm you can park in the village for free until 9 am the next morning. Pros - perfect location. The room we stayed in was nice and big. The dining room was a little on the small side but we didn't use it during peak times so wasn't an issue for us. Loads of walks on your doorstep.

Superb location”
Youth Hostels don't come more beautiful, convenient and comfortable. Apart from noisy plumbing (take ear plugs!) Butharlyp is ideal. For budget accommodation in a rather expensive area, this is a brilliant option. No frills, as you would expect. The building, grounds and convenience for a grasmere and the fells cannot be matched.

Decent hostel but very basic room ”
We booked a 4 person private room. Hostel room was very basic and small - so long as you're expecting that, it should be fine. Your belongings go on the floor or in boxes under the beds. Bunk beds were a standard 6x3 footer, quite compact. Toilets were clean and there were several WC and shower cubicles available. There was free parking available in a small carpark. Food was moderately priced - 6.75 for breakfast and 9.95 for dinner (a fixed main + dessert). Most people made their own breakfasts as there is a self-catering kitchen available. There are several walks nearby and Grasmere seems like a pretty town, though it was raining the whole time we were there which was not so fun.

Excellent choice”
My first time staying at YHA. The staff was helpful. The hotsel is in a great location for our holiday. It has laundry to use and kitchen for cooking. I will definitely recommend and stay here again!

Fantastiesch, zeer goed wat prijs kwaliteit betreft. Moet echt niet meer zijn voor YH. Alles eenvouwdig, maar goed en geriefelijk. Ontbijt zeer lekker gewaardeerd en zeer uitgebreid. Proficiat aan alle personeel die hun uiterste best doen in vriendelijkheid. Parkingplaats schikking zou iets beter verdeeld kunnen zijn voor minibussen.

Grasmere是個很有靈性的小鎮 這裡亦然 房間浴室等設施都非常乾淨 住戶很單純大多是健行客或家庭 早餐要另外買但是是很好吃的英式早餐 唯一缺點是設施有分兩棟 有時候走來走去不太方便 整體而言非常推薦
