Good if you're on a budget.”

We stayed 2 nights, very cheap, friendly staff, helped carry our luggage, small traditional Japanese room, share bathroom & kitchen, we bought food very cheap from the convenience stores, walking distance to the passenger terminal to get on our cruise ship, cheap bike hire too, plenty of drink vending machines.

Dreadful standard of hygiene. ”

Very poor cleanliness. No wash hand basins in the toilets for washing hands. A health hazard. Guests washed hands in an outdoor sink that was used to prepare food. One shower to share on floor for about 20 guests. Hostel seemed to have long term local guests living there. The name on the building was not the name of the hostel which was on the opposite side of the street. One of the worst places ever stayed in.

Unsafe and unsanitary ”

There is so much wrong with this place that sleeping on the floor is the least of your worries! I felt unsafe on the street with beggars following me up and down and pestering me for money (very unusual for Japan). The rooms are so small that the mattresses don't even fit on the floor. There is one shower for approx 40 people, no sinks in the gents, 2 toilets per floor. No hand soap. There are no lifts and the rooms are on the 4th & 5th floor. The whole building stinks of stale smoke. This isn't a normal hostel either as there are people actually living in these conditions. It's cheap, but don't punish yourself. Not worth the savings.

Exactly as described, the room was small but clean. Bathrooms were really clean and staff were really, really nice. Wifi is just in the wifi spot but they've put a sofa there so you can surf in comfort. Yokohama is a great place - definitely recommend hiring the bikes (they have electric if you're lazy like me!) and heading to the seafront. There's so much to see, I didn't realise!

Reasonable single room for the night”

Pros: located in Motomachi, a beautiful town and not too far away from Minato-mirai or Yokohama. For the price I'm paying and getting my own room with aircon and TV together with shared shower unit and toilet is fantastic. Staff are really friendly. Oh! Don't forget to try their coffee! It's soooo good :) freshly roasted and grind. Cons: no elevator and my room was on the 5th floor. Good exercise I guess. However the staff are happy to help you with your luggages. Overall happy and would go back again.

Convenient location & friendly staff”

The location is very convenient to the Ishigawa station, just 4 mins walk. Staffs are kind and friendly. Althought there isn't any elevator in the hostel, the staff will carry luggage for you. I stayed in room at 4th floor, so it is really helpful for me. Amenities like shampoo, shower gel, blower are provided in the shower room. You won't need to wait if you bath early at 8. Maybe because the tatami and the humid climate that days in Yokohama, there was 1 cockroach in my room on the last night before check out. The staffs were willing to help me despite it was already 12:30 am. 4 of us were trying to combat with the insect. Eventually, one of the staff borrowed me the cockroach spray so that I can kill it and have a great sleep. Again thank you so much for the favour.

Rooms are very small, 3 tatami. In the room is TV and refrigerator. No elevator. Easy to find near Yokohama China town. You can walk 20 minutes to Kannai shopping street etc. Very nice roof garden for early breakfast. There is also washing machine and hot cupboard but if you leave your laundry to the roof in sunny day, it will make the same for free...

Good accommodation and convenient to Yokohama”

Price, location

I've been to the hostel before and I like the location due to its close proximity to Yokohama. Inside you have your own t.v. and fridge. Sadly while I was there most recently there were renovations being carried out, so internet was a little inconvenient (had to go down the hall for access). If you fancy it you can hire a bicycle and ride down to the bay area, one of the highlights of Yokohama. Getting a shower while renovations are taking place can be troublesome too, but overall I'd recommend this place to younger types or solo travellers. Would be remiss of me to not mention the hostel is in one of the dodgiest parts of town. Quite a few elderly 'down and outers' around, but personally never been troubled by them.
