Easy to reach the accommodation. 5mins walk to Kirin Lake. 2mins to go to shopping street. Nice services. I love the Popcorn cooking and hot spring eggs so much. Interesting experience. Private room for the 5stars dinner and breakfast. Perfect view inside and outside the room. Would stay in this hotel for the next Yufuin trip

Dinner and Break fast were served in a private room (not a hotel room) so could enjoy all meals with very quiet and relaxed mood. All staffs are very kind, but depending on staffs' nationality, both English and Japanese are not available. Closed to the lake and the main station, also they provide pickup service from the station. Very nice place.

Staff is nice. Although it’s far from the station, it provide a free shuttle from station to hotel. The food is good too. Only one thing, the toilet and bathroom is a bit smelly but I am not sure is this the smell from the hot spring. So far it is good to me and I love it :)

The location is suitable for self driving tourist as it is quite far from the main street. Very Friendly and helpful staff. But for the private hot spring in room, the water is not hot enough and the bathing area is in outside area.

What a disappoint stay!”
We spent one night at Yufuin Hoteiya. My expectation is high due to the price of the stay. I have booked the room with 2 adults and 1 kid, breakfast and dinner included. At the check-in the the reception express surprise when he saw my kid and tried to tell us that the meal is not included. At that time i am not so sure that I did book for 3 people or 2 (but later on I confirm my reservation, I booked room for 3 people include breakfast and dinner). I told him that is ok, please prepare dinner and breakfast for my kid and if you need to charge extra cost, you can do that. But at the dinner, they serve only 1 bowl of plain rice to my kid. And also in the morning they did the same for breakfast. At the check out, I tried to explain what I have booked and what they serve us. And the reception only explain that it was the Agoda booking fault with no other explanation. The facility of the hotel is good. But I was very disappointed with the service and they way they communicate with us.

It’s located 3 mins drive from the lake, the environment of the hotel is very natural. However, we were served by a mandarin speaking staff who was rushing to introduce the facilities and being impolite and not professional.

Good and clean room, staffs is really kind. I feel they do their best to the guest. I was fully enjoy and had rest whole day. However, I got annoyed by a young lady who took photo in the hot spring.

Must do better to charge that amount of money”
If you compare hospitality service with similar Ryokans in the. Hakone region then they have a few things to learn from them. The management should be more flexible as they do not charge guest house prices. 1. Do not make guests beg for a continental breakfast and a Japanese breakfast to be served at the same time. Either you do not offer continental or if you do then be prepared for 1 guest to go for Japanese. Be flexible. 2. Upon checking in , make sure all bathroom toiletries are checked and full. Do not present half full containers. Not in this range of accomodation. 3. As we booked private onsen with mountain view which is the highlight of the room, make sure all wooden clad panels can be opened. If there is a health and safety concern for children make sure you set up a fixture by which panels can be temporarily locked from the outside. When adults only rent the room , unlock the panels so full view of the mountain can be offered. 4. Ensure all staff who look after english speaking customer explain ingredients of food served, plus how to eat them ( use of sauce, particular order) 5. As pick up from the station was ordered well in advance, ensure you are on time at the station to pick up guests. Offer apologies (25 min late waiting in the afternoon heat) when picking up guests or at check in. 6. Since the ryokan is a 25 min walk from the main street - although ideally located away from all high street but within walking distance from all the shopping district - offer free rental bycycle so guests can wander around whenever they feel like it 7. Allow guests to diner later than 18:30 and breakfast from 7am Then value would reflect rate charged!

Arranged pick-up via Agoda by a very friendly staff even though our train arrived late at the station but he was there! Superb location! Very close to the Kirin lake so walked there like a place in my neighborhood! Out-of-the-world foods! The Kaiseki dinner and extraordinary Japanese breakfast! Facilities! Everything I could ask for, and more! Very happy with their popcorn making at night, make sure you won’t miss it! Homey decorations Service-minded staffs! A few onsens, a bit small but I feel so fine with them ❤️

Our room was located right above the check in lobby at main building and it was right beside the dinning place where everyone comes to eat. Also the room was older than expected compare to the picture. Asked for change but it was fully booked. Other than that, the service, food and hot spring were great.
