Super friendly staff and nice rooms”
I stayed in the deluxe twin room with a private bath with my mom and we both really enjoyed our stay. While me speaking Japanese definitely helped smooth out our stay there, they did not rely on me to translate and interpret everything to my mom, doing their best to speak directly to her in English, which we both really appreciated. The food was great too and the room was very nice and clean. As we left, they asked for our plans, gave recommendations, and very kindly guided us to the shuttle bus waiting area. All in all we felt super welcomed and would gladly stay with Yushintei again!

lovely folks and ryokan”
owners and service are really nice, in fact awesome, they served dinner and breakfast very politely and lay everything out nicely. they also speak some english and are very very courteous and super nice! very helpful as well, my boyfriend lost his phone and we asked if they are able to help, they eve helped us contact the bus stations to check since we suspect it fell out of his pocket on a bus, although they didnt manage to find it, we are grateful that they helped and were apologetic when they couldnt locate it. ryokan is also the very traditional type, thus if you want to experience authentic ryokan, this is one you should try. the onsens are also very very nice, i loved their onsens! location is a little bit out of the way but you can take a shuttle to the ryokan at a small fee of 100yen each ride/person so it is relatively accessible with the shuttle. you can walk there from hakone yumoto, but trust me you wouldnt want to do it while lugging your luggage there, its a pain, we did that and regretted it. overall great for the experience and lovely place and environment with lovely service crew and owners. would like to visit again next time if i stay for at hakone again!

Comfortable and relaxing trip”
Everything was good. The staff at Yushintei was friendly and made my visit a fantastic one! The Kaiseki dinner was delicious and the server was very professional. She went on to introduce every dishes that was on the table before our feast. Even though staff speaks very little English, we could communicate very well with them and they know what we want! Onsen was okay. I had the luxury of having the whole onsen to myself as there were only a few rooms at the ryokan!

Excellent”
This place is ok. You get what you pay for. There was nothing wrong with this place but it's a budget ryokan and feels like one. If I had to do it again, I would do two nights in Hakone and I would splurge on a high end ryokan/experience.

Warm welcome”
Operated by an old couple, who are very kind and helpful. Most of the staff are eldly people and do not speak English but they offered very good services. The hotel is not very big, but is very tradional Japanese style Ryokan. The food is really good in both quality and variety. It takes about 15 mins walk to Hakone station. There is a bus stop just outside the Ryokan, but only a few buses are available in one hour so you need to be aware of the arrival timing.

enjoyed the food, location was okay”
We got the room with half board, and really enjoyed the meals but were so full after it! Highly recommend trying the traditional Japanese meals if you have never tried it. After 9pm, the ryokan switch the male and female onsen so that you get to experience the different pools. Compared to the other onsen we have been to, this is of a smaller scale. The location is about a 10 to 15 mins walk to Hakone Yumoto Station with lots of small shops along the way selling food and souvenirs. There is also a shuttle bus "A" that goes there from the station. Overall, we enjoyed our stayed and really like Hakone! Regretted spending only 1 night in Hakone.

Small but tidy. Food is very delicious but......”
My husband and I spent two nights in hakone and stayed in this onsen hotel. In a nutshell, this hotel is value for money. The cuisine they prepared for us was very delicious.Onsens are small but very clean and tidy. The young gentleman that served us during our stay is highly helpful and generous. However, it appears to us that the middle aged couple in charge of this hotel are not very friendly and are very instructive at times. For instance, they will hurry you up by the time of checking out. ( by telephone call to your room, just 3 mins past by 10a.m.) If you want a very relaxing trip in Hakone, this hotel may not be your cup of tea.

Wonderful Ryokan”
Three best thing for this hotel:- 1. Onsen - they had two public Onsen (changed between man and woman every six hours?!). The temperature was just good for the Onsen. The even have one outdoor Onsen in one of the public Onsen. We really enjoy using it. 2. Food - they provided really good Japanese food and so many dishes for dinner! Really Nice! 3. Staff - the lady who served us was so cute! She keep explaining to us the food even though we do not understand. All staff are so polite and they even helped us to clean our shoes! We love this Ryokan❤️

Cute lil place”
My husband and I loved it! We came here after spending 4 days in Tokyo so it was def a nice change of pace. This place is really close to the hakone train station. When you get off, just take the A bus, tell the driver the name and it's usually the second or third stop. Only 100 yen for the bus ride! It comes every 15-20 minutes I think. We got the regular room so it wasn't huge and we had to take our showers in the shared onsen rooms. However, since the place doesn't have a lot of rooms both my husband and I didn't have to share the onsen with anyone! ( separately, of course) the old lady there is super cute, when you arrived she will ask you what time you want your dinner and breakfast ( You get an option of either Japanese or western style). We loved the dinner, it was not the usual Japanese meal that we have had. Overall, we enjoyed our relaxing stay.

Very friendly staff, and excellent food”
The staff are possibly among the most hospitable people I encountered. The old lady who prepared the dinner and breakfast is the sweetest thing in the world! Not to mention how incredible the food was; excellent five-course traditional dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast. The shared onsen facility (you have an option for a private onsen) was clean and beautiful. I had a fun and relaxing experience in this Ryokan, and I highly recommend it.

Deluxe room served with traditional cuisine ”
It's like a family-run small Ryokan. We were welcomed by nice staff. Welcoming tea and snack which is memorisable. Our room equipped with a hot-spring facility which we can use at anytime. Room are so big. Area for dining, sleeping, entertaining, etc. are all separated.

Quiet location with earnest staff ”
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night in Nov 2017. We enjoyed the stay mostly because the staff were really warm and friendly. Despite the huge language barrier, they were still earnest in their tone and non-verbals, which made us feel very welcomed and understood. The Kasiseki dinner was the highlight of this stay, lasting 2.5hours with every course prepared carefully and explained to us in Japanese. Overall, I would say this is a good one night stop in Hakone if you are looking for something near the train station and want a traditional experience.

Great ryokan experience”
Love the staff here. They are very polite and friendly. The dinner and breakfast served are also very tasty. I love the onsen here as there is limited rooms under this ryokan, therefore, the onsen will never be too crowded and you may take your own sweet time soaking in the hot spring. However, pls note that the size of the onsen is quite small.

very warm Ryokan”
this is a small ryokan running by several old staffs, but they are all super nice, the onsen is very good and we do love this small but warm and nice ryokan, highly recommend and we definitely would come back again.

Wonderful ryokan experience”
Owned by a lovely couple, this place is a perfect ryokan stay for us. We love it so much with the Japanese room, our little balcony, wonderful public yet private onsen and of course the service they provide. We will definitely be back to stay!

Very relaxing stay”
From the second we arrived we had the full attention of all staff at this lovely Ryokan. The food was delicate, incredibly tasty and presented to us in our room. The public onsen were quiet, relaxing and a great introduction to hot baths.

Good choice for discounted room”
Room We were in old wing, two floors in this wing, and only 2 rooms were located on 2nd floor. We took them all. That means besides us, there were no one else in our wing, it's a bit too quiet. Rooms were typical Japanese style in 50+ years old, wood roof top was a bit humid. Do not expect a fancy room, but at least that was clean and tidy. Toilet Restroom with small sink (only able to accommodate hand washing) and toilet in the room. hotel guest public bathing facility available on ground floor only. Catering We had special rate offered in Agoda, 1 breakfast and 1 dinner were included. Best rate in the time we book with 2 meals. Food were good and in Japanese style. They offered a separate room for our family as a breakfast and dinner room, it was very great to have this arrangement. Transportation Walking to train station took us 20+ mins. 100 yen shuttle bus stop near the hotel every 20 mins, but sometime it's full. Staff (Highlight) We were served by an old lady at around 70+years old, in our breakfast, dinner and bed preparing time. She was very nice, kind and super polite with a lot of bow. She speaks little English. Other staff were super good too, old gentleman at around 80+ years old preapared our shoes when we ready to deaprt the hotel, and walk us to the bus station too. Hot spring The hotel guest public hot spring were moderate, not fancy, it can accommodate around 4-5 pax each time.
