Location wonderful and onsen is perfect”
Good location if u are taking the train. Its opposite the station and its by the road with many resturants. Onsen is wonderful. Food is not as good as we thought. Room is spacious and clean.

Just acroos the road from the JR Echigo Yuzawa Stn within 2 minutes walk (though you need to pull the luggage to walk up a rather steep short slope before reaching the hotel entrance). The Japanese style room is spacious, a bit old in decor but tidy and clean. The public baths are great and certainly can refresh you after a day of skiing. Basic communication with the hotel staff was not a problem to us.

Breakfast is amazing, the staff has good English and very nice. You can enjoy a decent hot spring place over there to relax yourself. However, the room itself is not too new but it is clean and large.

Dear Access from Echigo Yuzawa Station is the greatest attraction of the hotel. Arriving at the hotel with almost no walk from the station, there are several ski areas within a few minutes by shuttle bus from the hotel. We have prepared a delicious meal, so please come again next year.

A free shuttle bus is useful for ski resort. The shuttle bus operates at intervals of 30 minutes. There is also a free shuttle bus between Echigo Yuzawa Station and the hotel. Please use this convenient service next time as well.

Echigo Yuzawa Station”
Best location near to train station has always been our main preference when picking a hotel. Room is huge and overlooking a beautiful mountain with patches of snow (its early winter) and chair lift.

I have sent message to the hotel for the room arrangement before arrival but no reply from hotel. The staff here are nice but not flexibility enough to handle the room arrangement. The location is near to JR shinkansan station but there is a slope which is nightmare to guest at snowing condition. There are free luggage storage, the room is a bit old, the onsen does not have towel provided and we need to take the tower from room. The breakfast is very simple and not as good as reported by other guest, the choice of food is very limited actually.

I think that the guidance in advance was not enough, but if you arrive at Echigo Yuzawa station you will be picked up as soon as you can call the hotel. You do not need to climb a hopeless slope with heavy baggage. For meal we will make efforts to offer more touching menu than now.

What we love about Yuzawa Grand Hotel: proximity to the Echigo-yuzawa train station (5min walk or less!), choice of 2 onsens with an amazing shampoo bar selection and a free drink between 3-6pm (orange juice, beer or sake), free amazake (a warm, slightly fermented rice drink perfect for filling your tummy after skiing) in the afternoon, super comfortable bed sheets. Try a Japanese room for a more "authentic" experience! We did and had the most pleasant sleep in ages. It was our 2nd time to stay in Yuzawa Grand, and it definitely won't be our last!

ideal location, great onsen, best view”
Our large room offers the most wonderful view of Yuzawa's snow capped mountains that we wished we could have stayed longer and wake up with that scene on our window every morning. Just a few steps from the JR Echigo Yuzawa Station. Staff at the front desk was very accommodating; and the hotel had a great onsen facility. We really enjoyed our stay! If we ever go back to Niigata one day, we will surely stay at Yuzawa Grand Hotel.

It was a pleasant experience to stay in Yuzawa Grand Hotel for 2 nights. It only takes 3 min walk from the train station to the hotel. The hotel also has convenient shuttle bus to all major ski area. Both the breakfast and On-Sen are decent given its realatively cheaper price.

Experiencing Japanese traditional living in 1 place, only 1.5 hr away from Tokyo. ”
I travelled with my husband and 4 yo daughter. It's an easy gateaway from Tokyo to experience Japanese traditional life in a nice Japan mountain area. We stayed in Japanese style room, sleeping in tatami with pretty snow covered mountain/hill, we went to the hotel's private onsen day and night, had good selection of Japanese breakfast at the hotel. There's free shuttle bus service near the hotel to get to Gala Yuzawa. And the hotel is right infront of Echigo Yuzawa Station. So it's just perfect to travel with kids, since what we're looking for is anything convenient and easy to travel to but also giving us a memorable experience in Japan

Good location with nice traditional rooms”
1 min walk to Yuzawa station but it's located on top of a steep incline, so if you have heavy luggages and/or elderly with you, pls just get the staff at tourist info centre in the Yuzawa station to call the hotel to send a van over. Staff are very friendly and polite, switched their greeting to English the moment to checked our room number, little things like these are appreciated. Luggage storage before check-in/after check-out is self-service, there is a free locker area just near the reception. Hotel facilities appear to be very elderly/handicapped friendly. 2 female onsen and 1 male onsen available, for the bigger female one go to the South hall. Room is nice and clean, the overall space is quite good, but the hairdryer is weak and inconvenient to use. Breakfast buffet selection had a good variety but some items ran out quickly (the elderly visitors wake up really early to eat so consider yourself warned) and weren't replenished.

Tumb up for Hotel location!!! Just beside Echigoyuzawa station, can reach within 5mins walk. Free shuttle bus to Gala Yuzawa just right infrontbof hotel parking area. Onsen was awesome! Especially open air’s. Dinner international buffet was good! A lot of choices. Satisfied about this hotel!
