Customer service was great from start to finish. The hotel was clean and we could tell that they want to protect their guests as much as possible by providing anything that they could sealed. They are located in front of the beach, but the pool is on the rooftop of an other building. It's not far so I didn't mind, plus the staff member their was very nice and very helpful.

Great stay”
Moved from The Colony (crap) to Penguin Hotel and we are glad we did. The two hotels are within minutes of each other but like night and day. The staff here is so accommodating. Breakfast buffet was pretty ok. Great rooms, especially the ocean view. My only complaint would be the pool is on the roof of another hotel/apt building. So there was never any room there because of the amount of people that could get into the area. No big deal though. Just go to the beach.

Great staff and exceptional customer service. Everyone was very polite. Hotel doesn't have free parking but the neighbor hotel has valet parking for $ for around $45 a day. Very clean hotel.

location, location, location”
The star of the show is the location. You have the beach across the street, Ocean Dr at your doorstep, lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and other South Beach attractions within walking distance. The front patio/porch is perfect for people-watching. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean; the bed was comfortable enough. The rooftop pool area is really pretty and has some great views. It's actually located above the hotel behind Penguin so you do have a little further to walk but it's still a relatively short distance and hardly any other guests were using it when we were there. The only real negative aspect of our stay was the food. It wasn't bad - it just wasn't good. I don't really expect much from a free hotel breakfast but this is not a free breakfast and it's provided by the restaurant two doors down. Again, it wasn't necessarily bad but it wasn't worth the resort fee. The online reviews of the restaurant are positive and the other dishes I saw looked great so I have to assume that hotel guests are getting the lower quality breakfast meals - and lower quality service. Actually, I could handle the mediocre food; it was the mediocre service we received that really soured the experience. We finally decided to just skip the included breakfasts. There are plenty of coffee shops and cafes around. All in all, I would stay here again. The price, location, and friendly service were worth it - even if you skip the breakfast meals. (If the Penguin Hotel is reading this, my advice: drop the resort fee and drop the complimentary breakfast altogether. Maybe offer a discount at the two next door restaurants instead.)

Some things aren’t worth it. ”
Parking was difficult to figure out. Be ready to pay up to 60 dollars each night. Free breakfast starts late. Voucher said 8, but restaurant really opened at 9. Also states breakfast is a buffet, but with COVID, it isn’t. Breakfast was very delicious! Complimentary drinks were also a plus. Hotel is right on the beach.

This hotel is in a great location but there were several things we weren’t crazy about. We strongly disliked the wall of mirrors in the room. And because there are several hotels that work somewhat together as one, it was a bit confusing as to what was were and how to get there. In general however: Location! Location! Location!

Oceanfront ”
Queen size beds but the rooms are very small. Small bathroom. The hotel is a “cute boutique” but not convenient for families. Parking was a nightmare. Atlantic Ocean was just a short walk across the street with lots of fun shops to explore.

Great location for the cost”
We loved the location, restaurant on site, and across the street from the beach. The pool was not worth the time unless you get there at 9 am and plan to camp out. Close to all shops and restaurants.

Breakfast ”
Breakfast was terrible, the hotel as a partnership what a Cuban restaurant to served you a breakfast but there is only 3 choices and not only that, the stuff from the restaurant act like they make you a favor served you a breakfast which was horrible because you pay for it. So my opinion is if you have plan to stay in this hotel try to not include the breakfast in your booking.

The Front desk agents are not polite and helpfull at all. Always with a bad humor and they do not care about guests. Obter employees and the hotel are great!

The Hotel was a great location right across the street from the beach. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing is that for breakfast and there complimentary drinks they were using Havan restuarant, which once they send the breakfast vouchers service was horrible and they did not honor the complimentary drink ticket's. And the front desk gives different information every time you ask a question. That was confusing.
