It's an ok hostel”
My feeling for the first time i arrived was respected by friendly, polite staff. They have some facilities like tea or drink when u 're waiting for staffs arrange room. My dorm room was clean, fresh. All of that 're ok. The last thing i was disappointed with location of hostel. No lake, no sky, no large vision view from balcony of hostel.

Good location in old quarter”
Airport bus stop No.86 at the door of hostel Good staff Within walking distance to ho hoan kiem lake ,night market, cho dong chuan market, old hanoi quarter ,plenty of shops,restaurants and some halal restaurants,coffee shops,grocery,tourist agents,money exchange shops, not far from main attraction spots of old hanoi Room smelly coz inhabitants keeping tgeir shoes inside ,keep balcony door open while smoking .hostel staff couldnt be firm and stop that. Hostel entrance looks good but upper stairs it is old and cleanless of small bath room is not that good Breakfast is cup of coffee or tea plus egg sandwitch I was allowed to use kitchen to prepare my noodles Internet connection is good AC in the room is effecient and good Room has only sliding room that can be opened by any one with no security lock and so no privacy as many inhabitants leave door open when they go out or in.

Really nice staff”
Someone in the room we booked got sick so couldn't move out so the staff put us in a nearby apartment which was fancier than the one we paid for. They also provided us with free transport to the Old quarter. So happy!

The staff here are absolutely bloody wonderful, they made this place my little home from home. They sorted out absolutely everything for my stay inc. various trips/transfers/recommendations and are the friendliest going. The location is fantastic and the place itself is very clean. It's not a party hostel, but more of a little haven!

I picked this hostel due to having a personal preference of having the curtains for privacy but ended up getting much more in value. I only intended to stay for one night but stayed for another 5 due to how great this place is for value and how friendly the staff

Home away from home”
Zostel was recommended to me by a friend. I happily stayed there three times during my time in northern Vietnam. The staff is kind and extremely willing to help you out with whatever problems or questions you have and will make you feel at home. Location is very convenient and the building has a nice rooftop with bean bags where you can cozily enjoy a movie on tuesdays or fridays. If you need a nice place to crash in the old quarter then don't hesitate to come Zostel.

Exceptional”
Low ceiling in our 2 big bed room. Not advised for tall people. But after we get used to living there. Very well located and a very good pho 50meters from the hotel :)

Last Resort”
When I checked into the female-only dorm, one of the staff was sleeping on another bed in the room. When he got up, he folded up the comforter and left the dirty sheets on the bed! The bathroom stinks and the old shower wand is filthy. It was 58 degrees Fahrenheit and they had not heat and windows open. Even by Cietnam standards, the bed was rock hard. Walk to everything in Hanoi from here. They had good wifi.

Something Can't be solved by friendly”
After waiting for a quite long time after I arrived hotel, the staff said there was no bed for me (there was another traveller telling them that his bed was taken at the same time). Although they were trying to solve the problem by offering me another place to stay for 1 night, and come back to the hotel tomorrow, it was very far from the town unlike he said it was "close" , and I paid for the Uber myself to get back to there. They gave me many excuses such as it was because of my late show up, and someone was sick so they let her stayed 1 more night, totally not acceptable because check-out time is always earlier than check-in time. How can they be so sure that I will not show up at the time she has to check out? Obviously that is not a good booking management. I chose this hotel because of the good reviews, yes, the staff were friendly, but if I go to Hanoi again, I won't choose here to stay again. There're totally much more choice you can makein Hanoi.

Not worth the price ”
Stayed in a double bedroom. On arrival, blanket was not changed as I could clearly see all the stains, dirt on it and one of the key indicator is the awful smell. On reporting, not so friendly staff did change it though (had to explain the issue via Google translate). Shared ablution is old and may need refurbishment. Don't be surprised if someone leaves something behind in the toilet as I ended up with a bit of flushing and brushing. No elevator so, be mindful with the steps. The location is ideal and wifi is good. Lots of better deals on cheaper prices in the same area.
